The handover of Aniforos to readers and scholars more than 75 years after it was written is not only a great literary moment for our country but also a special cultural event.

This is a pioneering and very important work for its time, as the great Cretan writer attempts to capture the post-war era of Greece and Europe, emphasizing the issue of empathy and reflection on the past.

Aniforos will be an important link in the work of Nikos Kazantzakis, since, as it will become clear to the readers, it is a creation of the great author, which stands right next to his other masterpieces.
